Sleepless Nights

Hi everyone! I went to the doctor this week and found out I am a very big boy! I weigh 15 lbs 13 oz and am 27 inches long (99th percentile!) I have been going through a growth spurt lately, waking Mommy up 2-3 times at night, so our doctor suggested it was time to start on cereal. I've been on cereal almost 4 days now and it is helping. I only woke up once last night. Mommy was happy for the relief. Mommy and Daddy make my cereal really thin, so I can take it from a bottle (not quite ready for the spoon yet, I spit it out). I love the cereal! I suck it down like its my last meal.

My doctor is really nice and tickled me and told me I was doing really well. I am developing nicely. She was impressed I suck my toes, she said most babies start that later on. So maybe Daddy's right... I am a superbaby! I am also transferring small objects to and from each hand and putting everything in my mouth! I also get really mad when large objects won't fit in my mouth. I'll have to figure out a way to get them in there.

So long for now.....
Love,
Avery

Rollin' Over....

I rolled over for the first time this week! That's right, from my back to my front. The next day I rolled from my back to my front and then to my back again. My arm gets caught underneath me, but I'll figure myself out. Mommy and Daddy are excited, but also worried about what kind of trouble I will get myself into next. Guess they'll see when it happens!

This weekend the whole family went to Cascade to visit Grandpa Mark and we saw lots of family on Grandma Hannah's side of the family. Everyone seems to think I'm pretty cute. It was fun to meet everyone. I can't believe how much family I have. I was so tired from entertaining everyone that I slept for almost 10 hours on Saturday night. I'm really getting the hang of this sleeping thing.

I turn 4 months old in a few days.... I guess I have to go to the doctor again for a checkup. I hate getting shots, but I'm told I need them to keep me healthy. I wonder how big I am now. I will keep you updated on what I big boy I am becoming....

Love and kisses,
Avery

I love my Daddy!

We had a fun Father's Day! It was my Daddy's first. Mommy made us breakfast (and dinner) and we gave Daddy some fun gifts before hanging out all day. Daddy told me how much he loved me and how proud he is to be my Daddy. I love him so much, too.

Our home is starting to come together. All the boxes have been unpacked and it is starting to feel more like home. We still have pictures to hang on the walls and other misc stuff to put away, but we are getting there!

I am finally able to get my feet in my mouth. Just barely, but I can do it! I love it, too. I'll try for hours. Mommy and Daddy think its funny, but just wait... I'll be tearing my socks off before long and then they won't think its so funny. Speaking of funny, I laugh out loud a lot now. I like to hear my voice, too. Mostly I laugh when I'm playing in my bouncer because I kick so much and get really excited. Mommy and Daddy think I am going to be a "holy terror". I don't know why, I'm just having fun....

Bye for now! I must go play with my feet.
Love,
Avery

It's Windy Here in the Windy City!

Hello from Naperville! We made it... the long journey from California is over and we are in our new apartment. Our furniture arrived yesterday and I was so happy to have my bed back that I slept for 9 hours last night. I haven't slept that long since we left LA. I was pretty tuckered out from the trip. I met so many new people! I never knew I had that many relatives. I think I was a hit. Everyone seemed to think I was pretty cute.

Well, the airplane was pretty interesting. I slept the entire trip. Mommy said I was a very good boy. She thought it went really well until we got to Des Moines and the airlines had broke my stroller. No one would help her carry all our stuff, so she was pretty mad. Then randomly we ran into Susan Sarandon in the Des Moines airport. My first celebrity sighting! Mommy thought it was ironic that we leave LA and see a celebrity in Des Moines.

When we first got to Chicago, we stayed in a hotel. I pretty much just watched t.v. and talked on the phone the entire time. Daddy said I am developing bad habits already. Now that we are in our new apartment, we don't have t.v. yet, so I am playing with all my toys. It's so nice to be in our new home. I hope I meet new friends here. Aunt Greta stayed with us a few days and helped us move some stuff. She wasn't going to stay as long as she did, but she kept saying she was "transportation impaired". After trying to leave on a train and a then a bus, she finally rented a car today. I think she's on her way home unless she's still impaired. I guess we'll find out soon.

Well, this is my first of many adventures in my new town of Chicago! I'll keep you updated on all the trouble I get into.

Love,
Avery

p.s. Happy Birthday Aunt Katie!!
