Mischevious Boy

I've been very adventurous lately, climbing into cupboards, up the shelves in the fridge, and also climbing up the stairs! I really can't contain myself, it is a lot of fun. My parents tell me I have to be supervised or I'll hurt myself, but I'm fine.

I met a milestone this week. I am officially weened off my bottles! I've moved on to bigger and better things. I am a master at the sippy cup and do really well with a regular cup, too. Mommy packed all my bottles away, which is okay. I don't miss them. I'm getting bigger and more independent and I am happy to be moving on. I am still breast feeding, but will be weening from that in the next month or so. All these new things as I approach my first birthday!

My grandma and Aunt Andi came to visit me this weekend. We had a lot of fun! They think I am very funny, which I am. I even had the people at the restaurant laughing at me when we all went out for dinner. It was pretty cool. I love being the center of attention.

Bye for now.
Love and kisses,
Avery

Lions, Walkers, and Bears. Oh my!

I'm not walking on my own yet, but I sure love to practice with my toy walker! I walk all over the place with it.

I went back to the ENT this week. My tubes look great! And my hearing is perfect!! The doctor also said my speech is right where it should be for my age. Speaking of which, I have an official first word. Although I have been babbling mama and dada for awhile now, I now say no. In triplicate. I learned it from Mommy and Daddy. They say no, no, no! alot, so now I say "no, no, no". I know it's hard to believe because I'm so cute, but I get in trouble a lot, so I hear "no" all the time. It's no wonder I've learned to say it. I'm sure it will come in handy someday.

I'll tell of more adventures soon.

Love, Avery

A Day in the Life...

Hey everyone! Life is settling down for us now that the holidays are over, but I am still up to my usual antics. As you can tell, I've discovered that the kitchen has a lot of fun things for me to play with and I really enjoy pulling the pots and pans out to bang on the floor. I also love the ziplock bags, but my parents take those away from me. Something about "choking"... come on, its fun! Here's what else I've been up to:

Here I am cruising with my pal, Stretch. I've gotten really good at it. I'm having such a good time now that I am more mobile. I'm a really fast crawler, too. My knees are a little scabbed up from all my crawling, but they're tough, so I don't mind!

I'm eating better now that I have tubes in. Although I am teething, so sometimes I get a little cranky and don't want to eat. I prefer table food over baby food. I'm just Mr. Independent and want to feed myself all the time. Mommy and Daddy let me and I feel like I am joining in when we have meals together.

Here I am "helping" Mommy with laundry! She says I am a good little helper. When she's done folding, I will grab everything and throw it on the floor! That's what you're supposed to do, right? I find it very entertaining!! I laugh and Mom joins in with me and then she folds it all over again. Just in time for me to throw it on the floor again!

I'm breaking in tooth #9 on the bottom, so I am chewing on anything I can get a hold of, including furniture! My parents don't appreciate it, but my teeth feel better. I hope I am done breaking in teeth soon.

One of my favorite past times is looking out the window. They are so many interesting things to look at! This weekend there is a big snow storm, so I'm watching it all come down. It's so pretty!

To update you on my ears, I am feeling much better! I am extra happy and playful and am even sleeping through the night on most nights! I am so glad I got tubes, so I can get past all the ear infections. I go back to the doctor next week to get a check up and get my hearing re-tested. I think I will pass with flying colors. I am babbling nonstop (just like Daddy!) and noticing the world is a very different place when you don't constantly have ear pain.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my day.
Hugs and kisses,
Avery

Tubes Update

I got tubes this morning! We started waaaay too early. I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am, but the good thing is that I was first up since I was the youngest baby there today. The procedure went really well. Only took 10 minutes and I was back with Mommy and Daddy! I was pretty crabby afterwards, but was back to myself as soon as I had a bottle. I was hungry! The doctor said I had fluids behind both ears, so its a good thing I got tubes in both. We were home by 8:00 am and, as you can tell, was playing like I normally do. I'm glad the procedure is over and hope this means no more ear infections!

Well, I'm off. Gotta go play some more.
Hugs and kisses,
Avery
