36 Weeks.....

We finally hit week 36. This process is almost complete. It's so strange to think that we only have 4 weeks left till the due date. It seems like only yesterday Jen was holding a positive stick at me telling me I was going to be a father. Now that time is almost here.

We went to the Doctor today for our check up. Everything is fine and the baby is growing nicely. He didn't say to much today, and we didn't have any questions for him, so it was a really good appointment. Jen has been feeling swollen and sore the past few days. Her ankles were HUGE last night. The Dr. told her to stay off her feet so much, and that will stop the swelling. Right now we can't get her toe rings off......I may have to cut them off. Since I don't have a bolt cutters, I am going to make a special trip to Home Depot....and get the biggest pair I can find! Tools are cool.

Jen's office through us a baby shower yesterday and man did they get us a lot of stuff. It was really surprising to see all that loot. We got some pretty big items too. Alyssa was full and it took too trips to get it all in the house! The cake was sooooo cood. Chocolate with rasberry filling. We brought most of that home with us too. :)

Next week....Week 37..the begining of the end! (once we hit 37 weeks, he will be considered full term.)

Week 35..and no plug in sight!

Today is the start of week 35 for this pregnancy. Jen has noticed that there was something odd going to today. After further review, and not wanting to gross anyone out on the details, but Jen has lost her mucus plug. And....that means that the process is starting to move along to the next phase ......getting ready for birth! That's right it could be happening pretty soon and we could not be more excited. We still have lots to due but we will get it done. We are going to have the carseats looked at for proper installation. I put the one base in my car and it's pretty darn secure. I just want to make sure I did it right.

We got out pregnancy photo's taken this past weekend and as you can see, the newest picture is from that session. I will be adding more to the site as we get them. Isn't that just a great picture. My hands just happen to fall that way on Jen's belly, and our photographer was so excited that he tweeked my thumbs just a bit to get the heart shape. It was a happy accident as we like to call it. We had so much fun on the shoot. I love making Jen laugh! She seemed to enjoy it a lot too. I love getting my picture taken......if you haven't noticed already. ;)

It's raining here in LA and it really stinks because no one knows how to drive in this weather! Don't get me wrong, we need the rain, and I would rather have rain over snow anyday, but still, we are used to such nice weather here on the West Coast. I guess it's our "winter" so I should just grin and bear it.

34 Weeks

Ahh...we have reached the 34 week mark. It's really amazing to watch Jen's belly grow and move and just knowing that my son is in there....it's the coolest feeling. This past weekend we had a baby shower at our place. Lots of people showed up, but it wasn't too crowded. We played games and just had a really good time. Jen's friend Sara came up from San Diego, and pretty much planned the thing.

We got more stuff that we needed...the list is getting smaller! My cousin Bill offered to take the spare bed from us, so now the nursery is starting to take shape. We will be getting the crib and furniture this weekend so it will all come together soon. I think once we have all that stuff set up the way we want to, we will be even more anxious for him to get here, because it will be staring us in the face everyday.

Last night we had our child/infant CPR class. It was fun. We had to go around the room and introduce ourselves and when we were due. There was another couple that was due on the same day as us, so we might just all take a cab to the hospital. :) I'm kidding. We don't even know them...so that won't be happening. We also learned about child safety, and also car seats. I am going to attempt to put the car seat in Alyssa this weekend. (for those that don't know, that is the name of my car!) Yes....I am going to go to the Highway Patrol office to have them show me how to do it as well and make sure it's safe, but that man thing inside tells me I need to try it first. And no, I won't read the instructions. :)

33 Weeks....

Today we reached the 33 week mark. It's so exciting to think that in just a few short weeks our little boy will be here. We have so much to do yet. We are still waiting on our baby furniture. The latest on that is it won't be here till mid-March. :( The crib is in, so that will get delivered on teh 19th, and our chair gets delivered today, but still....we need to finish the nursery.

On a happy note, our friends Jeremy and Amy gave birth to healthy baby boy last night, and we happened to be at the hospital for it. Jen and I had our breastfeeding class, and lil' Camden Jon Weber came into the world at 6:48pm (Pacific Time). We are so excited for them, and we got to see Camden while we were on a break from class.

The ever expanding clan

As most of you know, Jen and I are expecting our first child in Feb. That is only a few weeks away! We are so excited to be welcoming a baby boy into this world for us to love and care for.

2008 is already starting out great. My Aunt Karla had her baby, Maxwell MCFadden Manternach, on December 28th. He is such a cute little boy. Mom and baby are doing great.
Speaking of babies....our closest friends the Weber's are on there way to the hospital to have there little boy soon. By this time tomorrow, Camden Jon Weber will be here. We are so excited for them!

Welcome
